Under direct supervision of Vice President, R&D. Direct and indirect supervision of technical staff within Regenerative Research & Development. Provides direction as a Franchise Technical Leader (FTL) for Human Tissue based products and works closely with Global Franchise leads of the marketing team. Responsible for strategic identification and assessment of new regenerative technologies utilizing Human Tissue platforms and business opportunities for licensing, distribution or acquisition.. Plans, Manages and tracks budget and resources for projects within R&D. Works cross-functionally with leadership in R&D, PD, Operations, Regulatory, Quality, Clinical, Marketing and Reimbursement to define an execution strategy that maximizes design accuracy, development efficiencies, and post-marketing effectiveness that is consistent with Customer and Payer needs. Develops relationships with key Surgeon and Clinician end-users to understand and identify unmet regenerative product needs and develops customer-driven product concepts and product requirements. Provides leadership in driving product opportunities in relevant surgical applications focusing on the definition of accurate and relevant design inputs and customer requirements during exploration/feasibility phase of development. Works with Marketing and Clinical teams to develop post-commercial technical strategies for optimal customer adoption of new product introductions. Effectively implements problem solving skills and techniques to identify real and potential issues, assesses the impact, develops and implements mitigation and resolution plans.. Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a medical-related field, bio-engineering, Tissue Sciences, biomaterials science or medical device science related discipline from an accredited university or college.. A minimum of 10 years of research and development experience with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility and success in one or more of the following: medical device (510k, PMA), Human Tissue (HCT/P 361), Biologics License Application (BLA 351), New Drug Application (NDA). A minimum of 4 years of directing technical personnel.. History of operating within Design Control and/or procedures.
